Luke M. Henson

Luke M. Henson was born and raised in Poplar Bluff. After graduating Poplar Bluff High School, he went on to graduate from Missouri State University and later earned his Juris Doctorate (J.D.) from Mississippi College School of Law in 2015, graduating cum laude and ranking in the top 20% of his class.

While in law school, Luke earned several awards and recognitions including; the Frank Deramus Award which is awarded to a second year law student who is committed through service to the development of the law school and who has demonstrated potential for service through the practice of law and to the community; induction into the Phi Alpha Delta Society of Scholars; Amjur Awards in Pre-trial Practice; White Collar Crime and Business Fraud; Expert Witness Seminar; Compliance in Financial Institutions, and Secured Transactions and Creditors’ Rights. In 2014, he was named the Mission First Legal Aid Clinic top volunteer.

While earning his J.D., Luke clerked at the Mississippi Contract Review Board, where he developed experience in the review of personal service contracts and state compliance. Luke also clerked at the Philip W. Thomas Law Firm in Jackson, Mississippi where he assisted in representing plaintiffs in both federal and state courts. Knowing that he would like to practice in Missouri, Luke was admitted to limited practice in Missouri during his last semester in law school under the supervision of Steven Lynxwiler allowing him to complete a hands-on externship with the Office of the Missouri Public Defender in Poplar Bluff.

He joined Kennedy, Kennedy, Robbins & Yarbro, LC, as an associate in 2015.
