KKRY Supports Legal Services of Southern Missouri
The great majority of Missouri lawyers provide pro bono service of some nature, especially in helping those who cannot afford legal representation. The lawyers of Kennedy, Kennedy, Robbins & Yarbro, LC, are no exception, often working with different church and charitable groups, including Legal Services of Southern Missouri. Legal Services of Southern Missouri (LSSM) is one of four legal services organizations in Missouri funded primarily by the Legal Services Corporation (LSC). LSC is a private, not-for-profit corporation created by an Act of Congress to ensure low-income people have equal access to the courts nationwide. LSSM is not a government agency, but rather a not-for-profit organization serving only the low-income and elderly in forty-three counties across southern Missouri. LSSM never charges a fee to a client. The LSSM program in southern Missouri provides legal services to meet the legal needs of children, elderly, victims of abuse, and the disabled. LSSM’s core legal services provided to the low-income and elderly are domestic/sexual violence, family, consumer, housing, public benefits and elder law.
Kennedy, Kennedy, Robbins & Yarbro, LC, sponsored a hole in the Warren E. Hearnes Memorial Golf Tournament, held Friday, October 17, 2014 at the Hidden Trails Country Club in Dexter, MO. In addition, our partner, Scott Robbins, hosted a team comprised of Billy Brisher, manager of Butler County PWSD#3, Quentin Duff of APG Rentals and Matt Thurmon, Shelter Insurance, Dexter, Missouri. The team carded a score of 6 under par for the four man scramble, with Billy Brisher holing out from about 158 yards on a par four for eagle. All proceeds of the tournament helped support LSSM’s mission of providing equal access to justice in Southeast Missouri.
