Memorial Day 2025-Honor and Remember

This Memorial Day, we pause to remember and honor the men and women of the U.S. Armed Forces who gave their lives in service to our nation. Their sacrifice is the foundation of the freedoms we enjoy today, and we are forever grateful.

As you spend time with family and other loved ones this weekend, we encourage you to take a moment to reflect on the true meaning of the holiday. Whether attending a memorial service, visiting a gravesite, or observing the national moment of silence at 3:00 p.m., your remembrance matters.

Weekend Safety Reminders

While Memorial Day is a time for reflection, it also marks the beginning of summer activities — travel, cookouts, and gatherings with friends and family. If you plan to take part in these traditions, we offer a few practical safety reminders:

  1. Travel Smart – Roads will be busy. Buckle up, avoid distractions while driving, and never drive under the influence. Allow extra travel time and remain patient behind the wheel.

  2. Grill with Care – Keep grills a safe distance from structures, supervise children, and never leave a grill unattended. Be sure all equipment is clean and functioning properly before use.

  3. Water Safety – If you’re heading to the lake or pool, ensure children are supervised, wear life jackets as needed, and be aware of weather and water conditions.

  4. Fireworks Caution—Although fireworks may be legal in your area, they are dangerous if not handled properly. Follow local ordinances, keep a safe distance, and never allow children to handle fireworks.

  5. Stay Hydrated and Sun-Safe – The Missouri heat can be unforgiving. Drink plenty of water, wear sunscreen, and take breaks in the shade if you’ll be outdoors for extended periods.
