Office Closed for Presidents’ Day – Reopening Tuesday, February 17
Today, we pause to honor Presidents’ Day — a federal holiday that began as a celebration of George Washington’s birthday. Over time, it is now a broader recognition of all the men who have served as our nation’s chief executive. From the Founding Fathers who shaped our constitutional framework to the leaders who followed in their footsteps, Presidents’ Day is a fitting moment to reflect on the enduring principles that define American democracy and the rule of law.
At Kennedy, Robbins, Yarbro & Henson, LC, we are closed today, Monday, February 16, in observance of Presidents’ Day. We will reopen on Tuesday, February 17, at 8:00 a.m. If you have an urgent legal matter, please email or leave a message, and we will respond promptly when we return.
President’s Day, the Rule of Law, and Right to Trial by Jury
The values that inspired our earliest Presidents — fairness, equal justice, the rule of law, and the protection of individual rights — are the same values that guide our work each and every day. Among those foundational rights is one that is too often overlooked in modern legal debates: the right to trial by jury. This right is enshrined in the Seventh Amendment by the very Founding Fathers we honor today. In fact, it was considered so essential that it was included in the original Bill of Rights. Furthermore, it remains as vital to our justice system now as it was in 1791. We’ve written about why this cherished right deserves to be understood and defended by every American. You can read that post here: Trial by Jury – A Right to be Protected.
We are grateful for the trust our clients and community continue to place in us. We look forward to serving you when we return on Tuesday morning.
