I have reviewed the new, proposed Ozark National Scenic Riverways General Management Plan (ONSR GMP). The entire ONSR GMP is accessible here. Needless to say, we have some work to do to avoid a negative impact on the recreational use of the Current River. My summary of the ONSR GMP is accessible here. I have included within the summary an outline of some ways to structure your comments to the National Park Service during this comment period. If you don’t speak up now, you should not expect your voice to be heard regarding the ONSR GMP. The National Park Service intends to drastically limit recreational use of the park as a whole.

Public information meetings are scheduled next week as follows:

• December 10 (6:00 pm to 9:00 pm): Van Buren Youth & Community Center, Van Buren, Missouri.
• December 11 (10:00 am to 12:00 pm): Salem City Hall Auditorium, Salem, Missouri.
• December 11 (6:00 pm to 9:00 pm): Powder Valley Conservation Nature Center, Kirkwood, Missouri.
