Westwood Baptist Academy Lady Eagles Win State
The Westwood Baptist Academy Lady Eagles won the Missouri Christian School Athletic Association Class 2A State basketball championship held in Joplin on February 18-20, 2016. This is the fourth overall state title for Westwood Baptist Academy, as the school previously won two state titles in boys basketball and another state title in golf. WBA students have also placed well in state and regional academic and fine arts competitions.
WBA’s mission is to give Christian training along with a solid academic foundation in the basic fundamentals of learning for the average and above-average child. Academic and spiritual standards are high with added emphasis on character training. Westwood Baptist Academy is an accredited member of the American Association of Christian Schools and the North American Christian School Accrediting Agency. WBA is also a member of the Missouri Association of Christian Schools and is a ministry of Westwood Baptist Church. WBA participates in the Mid-America Association of Christian Schools’ regional events and the Missouri Christian School Athletic Association sporting events. Preschool (K3) through 12th grade classes are taught in a traditional classroom setting primarily using the A Beka curriculum.
