Yarbro Settles Medical Malpractice Claim
Chris Yarbro settled a medical malpractice and product liability case. The patient previously underwent a right pneumonectomy. Shortly after this procedure, a bronchial plural fistula was suspected at the bronchial stump.
The surgeon elected to use a surgical product that was not approved by the FDA for treating the patient’s suspected condition. Additionally, evidence suggested the manufacturer of the product promoted the doctor’s unapproved use. After surgery, the patient developed severe and life threatening complications necessitating air evacuation and emergent life saving surgeries. The case settled after suit was filed and extensive discovery completed.
